I'm not a sporty guy, but I like these paintings...

...by artist Mark Penxa and they're seasonally appropriate as baseball season just started. Here's a blurb about his project from Juxtapoz (http://www.juxtapoz.com/):

Mark Penxa just completed a project he’s dubbed Stealing Signs he has been working on for over a year. Fourteen months and over two hundred paintings later, Penxa has created a complete online exhibition, complete with paintings, sketches, a statement, and store.
Aesthetically, every painting is about baseball (just in time for spring training!) However, as one digs deeper into Stealing Signs, it becomes glaringly apparent that Penxa is really using this entire artistic experiment as a type of therapy in an attempt at dealing with the mortality of his ailing grandfather who introduced Penxa to baseball years ago.
Stealing Signs is a beautiful tribute not to be missed. Whether you’re the type that’s followed a favorite baseball team since childhood, or have no idea how many innings are even in a game, Stealing Signs is an uncompromising delight.
