Art I Hate
Are we done with the Big Headed, Big Eyed Waif movement in art yet? It's been around for the last 30 to 40 years, and has really taken off in the last 10 or so thanks to several popular artists like Mark Ryden (who's very good at it) and now every other young artist seems to favor this style...well, young artists, we get it; we understand why this appeals to you...people are doll-like, or you, the artist feel doll-like and it looks cool, like a cartoon or comic, but...it's played out. Tired. Boring. Done to Death.
So...
Dear Young Artists of the World: Unless you can do something NEW and INTERESTING with this shopworn cliche, please do not add any more paintings of this ilk to the Canon of Cliche. The category is closed, for the time being.
Thank you.
The Management.
The artist here is Jennifer Springman. (Note: This is not a bad painting, just a tired style of painting...)
