I'm a bit bitter,

after 5 days of being raked over the coals during Stancl/Frizzelle/StrangerGate. Apparently I'm a monster for suggesting that people accused of criminal acts are supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and for suggesting that gay people and gay teenagers and gay teenagers involved in a sex crimel MIGHT not always get fair and just treatment from society, the law, the media and public opinion. I must be wrong because gay people are always justly treated in our society, and the police and the court system never have an agenda, and the media is always fair and impartial, and innocent people never go to jail, and the punishment always, always, always fits the crime....right? And even though I've made it quite clear I'm not saying that Stancl is innocent, or that it's ok to rape, or molest anyone, or that it's ok to blackmail people or call in bomb threats or that I'm in favor of child pornography, I've been accused of all those things because either I haven't made myself clear enough, or because people refuse to see any other viewpoint than the one they've already formed, or because people are just a bit stupid and awful or more likely, a combination of all of the above.

I'm with you, buddy. That was rough. And not much fun to be a part of.

Thanks for the support.

Yes, it was brutal, but I don't regret doing it in the slightest.

And, I'm disappointed with Frizzelle and Savage. Frizzelle for wimping out, and Savage for taking the easy road. Obviously, every somewhat intelligent, somewhat well-read, somewhat self-aware out gay man in this country has either experienced bias personally, known someone who has, or, at the very least is aware of such situations in general through the media. And I'll be the first to say that this horrible case MIGHT not be the best example of such bias, but only an idiot would deny that it doesn't exist to some degree.

Yeah, I do tend to be long-winded...

No, I don't regret anything I said, either. And why should we? We were never anything but civil there, unlike 80% of the commenters.

I wonder if Frizzelle was threatened with being shitcanned...

Don't worry about being long-winded. You're long-winded in a good way.
